Cavendish Venues Go! #Cityopoly on London City Selection Fam Trip 2017!

London City Selection Familiarisation Weekend 2017#Cityopoly #London @CitySelection #Eventprofs

The London City Selection (LCS) this weekend (3rd-4th March 2017) hosted its annual agents’ Fam Trip, this year entitled #Cityopoly #London @CitySelection, a Monopoly inspired weekend of fun co-ordinated by Events Chair Mo Issa from The Mermaid @MermaidLondon.

Cavendish Venues @CavendishUK contributed in participation with Paul Martins on Social Media coverage as Website Chair and new Event Sales Executive Chloë Bennett being a Team Leader!

The event saw just under 20 agents from the likes of Banks Sadler, Inntel and NYS Corporate take part in a series of challenges at member venues across the City of London. For the 2nd year running, a winning formula of activities throughout the weekend were organised by LCS’s official partners, Right Angle Events @RA_EventsLtd with their very own Adam Wegg as Mr Monopoly in charge of proceedings.

The weekend began with an evening reception at The Institution of Structural Engineers @47BastwickSt where agents were welcomed, assigned team leaders and had to collect Monopoly themed money notes as they met with venue stands. This was before being whisked to their hotels for a 2-night stay courtesy of fellow LCS accommodation venue members at The Montcalm, Crowne Plaza Kings Cross & Thistle City Barbican. The Doubletree by Hilton Tower of London also offered support around their business bookings.

This was followed by a full traditional breakfast at One Moorgate Place before agents and their team leaders were unleashed upon the City of London to go around the venues by completing a series of challenges at each. These included Fleet Street at Museum of London & Sadlers Wells, Houses & Hotels built in Lego at Furniture Makers Hall, Electric Company at Barbican, Free Parking of a remote control car at CCT Venues – Barbican and a laser maze to Get Out Of Jail at Ironmonger’s Hall. A wonderful lunch stop was provided at the London Capital Club @LondonCapClub with oysters and steak fare and the day concluded with a final challenge at The HAC @HACEvents.

Emma Grant, Account Coordinator at Banks Sadler, took part in the event and said, “We both had a great time and found it really beneficial. We book 80% of our events in the city so being able to see so many venues in one day is amazing. The tasks were all super fun too!”

To bring the Fam weekend to a close, teams gathered at 58VE @58VE_LDN to regale their tales of the day and enjoy a gala dinner followed by an after party of cocktails and dancing, with entertainment provided thanks to Blank Canvas Entertainment @blankcanvasent: wonderful caricaturists, an incredible magician and fabulous singing waiters SEE VIDEO HERE:

There, a fine dinner prepared by Tonic Food of Harbour and Jones was served at new venue 58VE @58VE_LDN overlooking the London Eye and River Thames where winning prizes were also announced.

Prizes included tickets and drinks at Sadlers Wells and the Barbican; lunch at the Doubletree by Hilton Skylounge, a three-course lunch for four guests at The HAC and a Thrill Experience at Silverstone Race Track courtesy of Cavendish Venues @CavendishUK thanks to friends at Silverstone @SilverstoneWing were awarded.

Lesley McDowell, Senior Meetings and Events Consultant at Inntel, commented on her experience, “I can honestly say that ‘Cityopoly’ was one of the best agency events I’ve been on. The theme stayed consistent throughout the weekend, including our very own Mr Monopoly! Each venue we visited had a Monopoly themed challenge, and all the attendees embraced each one 100%. We were thoroughly spoilt with the most amazing catering and fantastic company. Well done LCS on a brilliant weekend at some amazing venues.”

Oliver Hargreaves, Chair of London City Selection, said: “Once again the Agency FAM weekend has been a huge success and our members and supplier partners went above and beyond to ensure the agents had a fun and memorable weekend. The Cityopoly theme was really well received and Right Angle Events created a fantastic itinerary of competitive and hilarious activities.”
