Business Events Concierge
Initial 12 month fixed term contract
Salary starting at £22,010 per annum pro rata, inclusive of London Weighting
5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, flexible during the opening hours of the Barbican on a shift rota basis (mornings 8.15am-1.15pm or afternoons 1pm-6pm)
The Barbican is Europe's largest multi-arts and conference venue and is highly respected for its diverse range of activities spanning music, festivals, theatre, visual arts, cinema, conferences and trade exhibitions.
Two 12 month fixed term contract positions have come available within the Business Events Management team which specialises in delivering conferences and events.
As a Business Events Concierge you will be responsible for the welcome desk and guest liaison services in the newly refurbished event spaces of Frobisher Crescent, providing support to the many visitors and event organisers who regularly use these spaces.
You will respond to bookings for the Frobisher Boardroom that are made through an online booking portal and deliver these events including administering the logistical requirements to see them through to a successful conclusion. In addition, you will also work with colleagues in other departments to maintain the spaces and lead emergency evacuations in this area as a member of the fire safety team.
The successful applicant will have experience within a customer facing environment where first class service is paramount. You will have demonstrated responsibility for the detailed planning and execution of managing multiple tasks including general administration, dealing with challenging situations and stock control. The ability to work as part of a team and having excellent interpersonal skills is vital; however you will also need to demonstrate capability to work alone.
Word processing and excel skills are essential, however, training for the Centre's computerised venue management systems will be provided.
